I’m Dr Rylan Hayes - The Vision Surgeon - and it is my passion to offer people better vision. I am a highly trained Australian ophthalmologist (eye doctor) with a special interest in cutting edge eye surgery techniques designed to improve vision. Whether you have a condition limiting your vision or you’re forced into glasses, you deserve better. I’d love to meet you and see what personalised, bespoke options are available to give you the vision and lifestyle you deserve.
I specialise in cataract surgery - straightforward or complex - as well as laser vision surgery for patients whose lifestyle simply doesn’t suit glasses. I have access to a wide range of premium intraocular lenses to suit your personal requirements, including toric IOLs and multifocal IOLs. I also have additional training and interest in the management of your pterygium, conditions of the cornea, and glaucoma.
I strive to remain at the forefront of ophthalmology care. In addition to rigorous medical school and ophthalmology training in Queensland, I have further achieved an international graduate diploma in refractive, cornea, and lens surgery. I also hold a prestigious appointment as a specialist ophthalmologist at the Mater Public Hospital in Brisbane, and, as a Lecturer at The University of Queensland, have published numerous papers and presentations across national and international journals.
Working in state of the art practices at Maroochydore, I have access to all necessary equipment to help you on your journey to better vision. So make an appointment to see me at:
